Pardon the dust. I’ve been busy. My life has been consumed with baseball practice, work, coaching…life. After a handful of sponsored and family trips, I’ve been thinking about how to better balance being the “Beyonce” of Bonus Moms. I want to travel. I want to go to fun concerts. I want have a padded bank account. I want to take vacations without my job filled with 500 employees doesn’t act like they can’t function with one less person. I want to attend every school and extra-curricular event the boys have. I don’t want to subscribe to the notion that I have to give everything up to raise my children. I don’t want to make my children sacrifice so that I can “live my life”.
What am I supposed to do?
I accepted that I am not going back to a life lived in scrubs (unless I’m desperate). At almost 30, I finally found what I’m good at. I have a natural talent for all things for public relations and [digital] marketing. I can spend hours reading about the latest trends and strategies in media. It brings me peace and flexibility to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Once I tackle the “lazy” beast, I can see this being a full-time career for me.
I discovered Good&Co’s app filled with personality tests for jobs and work places. I’ve read my natal chart, I’ve taken the Myers-Briggs, but this app does a fantastic job of highlighting my strengths as it relates to my current career status.
Check out my “strength card” and some quiz results:
You can even invite friends to take quizzes about your personality to get more insight on how others may perceive you in the workplace. The more quizzes you take, the more accurate your strength card gets. I began as as strategist, maverick, and go-getter. After a new quiz, I am now a strategist, inventor, and maverick. The app even has hilarious ways of asking the quiz questions to better gauge your personality.
Give it a try and tell me what you think!
